Ink
Rare (9.0%)Ink is a Rare Soul Reaper element in VV: Ultimatum, rolled from the 9.0% bracket, whose brush-wielding Shikai slows opponents with an Ink debuff applied by every move.
Ink swaps the usual blade for a giant brush and fights through debuffs: its Shikai passive makes every move apply Ink, slowing the opponent. Blacken (Ctrl + M1) flips backward before painting a wide slash in front of you that inks the enemy, while Sever (Ctrl + M2) takes two steps forward into an overhead brush slash.
Sever is also a gateway move. With at least Level 3 in the Damage line, landing it unlocks the follow-up Brush Strike - a short thrust with the blunt side of the brush - which becomes rushdown-compatible at Damage Level 5. The Reiatsu Efficiency line gives Sever real disruption power: at Level 7 it disables an enemy player's skills for 6 seconds, and Level 4 opens a bursting ink puddle underneath opponents you catch with a blade catch.
Status Duration upgrades reward committing to the ink theme: ink moves coat your blade with an ink trail that increases damage and stun dealt, and Sever applies Inked on hit for 3 seconds. There are currently no variants for Ink per community documentation, and like other Soul Reaper Shikai it may receive further additions - values are subject to change per current documentation.

Shikai moveset
Blacken (Ctrl + M1) performs a backflip before swinging a wide brush slash in front of you, applying ink to your enemy. Sever (Ctrl + M2) takes two steps forward into an overhead slash with the brush and, once landed (with Damage Level 3+), enables the follow-up Brush Strike - a small thrust with the blunt side of the brush.
The Shikai passive applies Ink with every move, slowing your opponent.
Milestone upgrades
Status Duration: Level 3 makes ink moves apply an ink trail to your blade, increasing the damage and stun you deal; Level 7 makes Sever apply Inked on hit for 3 seconds.
Reiatsu Efficiency: Level 4 opens a bursting ink puddle under opponents who are blade caught; Level 7 makes Sever disable an enemy player's skills for 6 seconds.
Damage: Level 3 grants access to Brush Strike after using Sever; Level 5 makes Brush Strike rushdown-compatible.

What does the Ink debuff do?
Every Ink move applies it, slowing the opponent's movement. Upgrades stack more on top: an ink trail on your blade for extra damage and stun, and a 6-second skill disable on Sever at Reiatsu Efficiency Level 7.
How do I use Brush Strike?
It requires Damage Level 3 or higher and only becomes available after landing Sever - wind up the blunt side of the brush for a short thrust, which is rushdown-compatible from Damage Level 5.
