The Necromancer

Rare (9.0%)

The Necromancer is a Rare Quincy element (Schrift) in VV: Ultimatum, rolled at 9.0%, that lets you seal a defeated NPC with Power Seal and resurrect it as a fighting summon with Arise.

The Necromancer is the summoner archetype of the Quincy element pool. Its core tool, Power Seal (Ctrl + M1), seals an NPC and stores it permanently as your personal summon - it stays with you until you deliberately replace it with a different one. The Letzt Stil passive, Undead Army, formalizes the loop: store a fallen non-player enemy with Power Seal, then call it back to fight for you.

Arise (Ctrl + M2) performs the actual summoning and notably works outside Letzt Stil as well. The resurrected NPC attacks all nearby enemies and automatically expires after a few seconds, with its lifespan scaling off your Status Duration stat. That makes Status Duration the key investment for anyone who wants their undead ally on the field longer.

Upgrades turn the summon into both a shield and a lifeline. You can become immune to damage from summoned NPCs, heal whenever you successfully seal a target, redirect 30% of damage you take onto your active NPCs, and at Damage Level 10 your NPCs heal you as they deal damage, at a rate of 1% per 20 base damage. The Heal Efficiency line has no milestone upgrades. The Frost Lord variant (5%) rebuilds your undead from frost - they have lower health, but their attacks gain a small chance to freeze opponents, and the summons take on a lighter blue-white frozen look.

Schrift moveset

Power Seal (Ctrl + M1) seals an NPC and stores it permanently as your summon until you replace it with another. This is the capture half of the kit - pick your stored NPC deliberately, since it persists between fights.

Letzt Stil

The passive Undead Army lets you store a fallen non-player enemy with Power Seal and summon it to fight for you. Arise (Ctrl + M2, usable outside Letzt Stil) brings the stored NPC onto the field, where it attacks all nearby enemies and automatically dies after a few seconds - a duration that scales with your Status Duration stat.

Milestone upgrades

Status Duration: Level 5 grants immunity to damage from summoned NPCs.

Reiatsu Efficiency: Level 3 heals you whenever you successfully seal an NPC; Level 7 redirects 30% of damage you take onto any active NPCs.

Damage: Level 10 makes your NPCs heal you as they deal damage, at 1% per 20 base damage.

Heal Efficiency: no milestone upgrades are documented for this line.

FAQ

Can Arise be used outside of Letzt Stil?

Yes. Arise is explicitly usable outside Letzt Stil, so your stored NPC can be summoned in regular combat as well.

How long does the summoned NPC last?

It automatically dies after a few seconds, but the duration scales with your Status Duration stat, and Status Duration Level 5 also makes you immune to damage from summoned NPCs.

What is the Frost Lord variant?

A 5% variant that turns your undead army into frost: they have lower health, but their attacks gain a small chance to freeze opponents, with a light blue-white frozen recolor.
