Greatsword

The Greatsword is the hardest-hitting documented blade in VV: Ultimatum at 18 damage and 17 posture damage per swing, paying for it with very slow attack speed - its critical ripostes and recharges every 7.5 seconds.

The Greatsword is VV: Ultimatum's committed heavy blade. At 18 damage per hit it tops the documented damage table, and 17 posture damage makes each connected swing a serious dent in an opponent's guard. Its attack stun is rated Extremely Long - land a hit and you get an enormous window to keep pressing.

The price is everything else about its tempo: attack speed is Very Slow and attack duration Very Long, so every swing is a commitment that skilled opponents can parry or simply walk around. Very long range partially compensates, letting you start swings from outside typical trade distance. The weapon's critical can be used as a riposte after a parry and recharges every 7.5 seconds, which is quick for a weapon this heavy - parry-riposte play is where the Greatsword's damage really lands safely.

Community documentation captures an Evolved Critical variant plus both Soul Reaper and Arrancar-associated media for the weapon; no faction tag is attached to it, so no restriction is documented.

FAQ

Is the Greatsword the strongest weapon?

It has the highest documented per-hit damage at 18 (plus 17 posture damage), but Very Slow attack speed and Very Long attack duration make every swing punishable - raw numbers are not the whole story.

What is the Greatsword's critical cooldown?

7.5 seconds, and the critical can be used as a riposte after a successful parry.

Why pick the Greatsword over the Hammer?

Both are Very Slow, but the Greatsword hits harder (18 vs 16 damage), reaches further (Very Long vs Long) and stuns longer (Extremely Long vs Very Long); the Hammer edges it on posture damage tempo with shorter attack duration.
